HARDCOVERS ON A TRUCK!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Aug 27, 2022 at 02:43:44 PM

Emily here. This is going to be quick (for me) because, as you'll see, I've got some pitching to do to maintain my rep; more on Night Ivy very soon! (*wriggles with excitement*)

First, yes, the Night Ivy hardcovers are ON A TRUCK. Believe me, you'll know when I have them. And I'll sign and ship them as soon as I can - we've all been waiting so looooong!

Quick notes! Lightning round!

  • My reputation is on the line! The only way I could convince Chris to bump up posting the Grayshade Founders Audio and get them out today was to promise him I could sell at least four of them today. So, um, if you want some fun audio files for ringtones, notifications, fun at game night, etc - check this out! (Plus you'll get thanked in the RPG book!) And yeah, I'm being cute, but those who know me will know I don't take such things lightly at all - my word is everything. So I've got some files to sell. (p.s. ...whispers... don't tell my secret but I picked the phrases and lines for Tren to perform, so I think they're spiffy)
  • Speaking of Grayshade, remember that YouTube you helped me bump to 1000 subs? It's still hovering a little too close for my comfort, so if you'd like to just click Subscribe (no cost or spam) you'll get a *click-click* sound from the left side of my mouth and a quick chin-tilt from me.
  • Speaking of Gregory, rumor has it he's participating in a live neighborhood music night tonight, and will be streaming it on his Twitch. Around 8 EDT? I'll be on Twitch, as the new version of me, EmilyTheHonoured.
  • Congratulations to Brandon Crilly on his Aurora Award (with Evan May) for their podcast: Broadcasts from the Wasteland.
  • Congratulations to Carlos Hernandez for his upcoming story in Marvel's Voices: Comunidades #1.
  • Speaking of Carlos and Brandon and Gregory and me and some of you too, please consider registering for our author reading! I'm very excited about this! (It's free, and signing up gets you the notifications on this event.)

Sending ♥! AND SOON, HARDCOVERS! - Emily.

Good news and other news.
over 2 years ago – Thu, Jul 21, 2022 at 04:44:36 AM

Hello, everyone!

I am a bit worn out, so forgive me for a short and/or slightly weary update, please.

First, to those of you who backed our Grayshade campaign, thank you from the depths of my heart. We did it. We'll be producing the full trilogy, plus the coin, plus the audiobook. I'm incredibly grateful to our communities for the support. So much. This project meant a great deal to people, including to me.

As to the world of Alyssia, the good news is: we have a ship date for the hardcovers. The bad news is, I'll be missing Gen Con with it. So then, the first two appearances for Night Ivy will be in Ontario: London and then Ottawa. (Did you hear I was named Editor Guest of Honour? I am so completely overwhelmed by this!)

So, short version: Hardcovers from this campaign will ship late August to arrive early September.

For those of you in Dayton, I regret to say I've cancelled out of Gem City this year. It's just too much, especially with my high risk for respiratory complications. So the rest of the year now holds Gen Con, London Comic Con, Can*Con, and then Grand Rapids Comic Con.

I am very worn out! I know a lot of you will understand what that's like, what that feels like. But more from me soon. I'm thrilled, like thrilled about the sequel. We have one more release this year, for a really amazing fantasy novel by Brandon Crilly. And then I'll be wrapping up the year with a sort of fun, composite, treasurey project that I'm truly excited about, and will need to find the energy to work soon.

Don't forget, we've revised our Patreon into the Atthis Arts Sketchbook (the more patrons, the more experimental global fiction we can preview), but I'm still posting episodes of Just Chad (other half to MIPA gold award-winner Just Bart!) from now until the final one. This month's episode is "Karen" (about the bottle return from Gaylord) and another episode posts on the 1st. To support is $1/month.

Thanks for being here. Thanks for your support. This community means the entire world to me. Thank you.

- Emily.

Release Day! (And Emily still wants a hardcover!)
over 2 years ago – Thu, Jul 07, 2022 at 10:17:19 PM

No hardcovers yet. Hopefully this month; I'd really really love to have them by Gen Con, so we'll see. And I could have got them faster, but I just could not sacrifice the quality. They are going to be very pretty books!

Today is a Big Day (!) but first, did you see the short story I posted? I was challenged to write a rock star story and I did my best.

I hope that you have been enjoying Night Ivy, or are looking forward to it when a little rest would help. (Or when the hardcover arrives! I get that!) Today (play little happy sound) is the official release day, and if you'd be willing to help me spread the word, I will share a few links, to uh, share further.

But first - it may not be here yet, but I was only able to print this in hardcover because of you. And it sets the tone for the whole world. I am so, so grateful. Thank you.

My best to each of you, always, and don't hesitate to reach out. ♥ - Emily.

MANY THINGS ARE HAPPENING
over 2 years ago – Tue, Jun 21, 2022 at 10:44:14 AM

Where can I even start? My brain is frazzle and spark right now (lol "right now"), so can I do a quick list?

  • The Night Ivy BackerKit will be taken down today or tomorrow. After that, we'll go to standard pre-order on the product page and retail sites until the 04 July release, and the price of the e-book will increase.
  • The Night Ivy hardcovers will arrive in the Year 3000. Ok, hopefully we can get them out to you in August. 2022. I really want to see these in your hands. They will be VERY PRETTY. And all because of you. A thousand thank yous for that. Really. Really really really. ♥
  • Have you seen the reviews so far? I'm *reeling*. People like Xelle! They do!
  • We've launched the new Atthis Arts Sketchbook on Patreon, featuring the debut story, "Diamir’s Favourite Fork" by ... Ether Nephenthes. I'll also continue to preview Just Chad as that goes along. Don't miss episodes like "Erotic Bears" and the next one..."Karen". The more patron $s (€s, whatever you've got to stuff in my bosom) we have, the more global fiction we can buy. (If you have the means, it's an easy way to support me and global writers at the same time!)
  • A big announcement should be happening any day. Big, friends. (Follow my links on socials - all cutely iconed at edebell.com, to hear it first.) And I am not trying to tease; it's not my announcement to make. (stares at screen)
  • And now: DRUMROLL (can you hear it? it's a fancy drumroll)

Meet Grayshade (and a new short story by me!)

Please check out our dark assassin trilogy campaign. (It's listed under the TTRPG publisher's account, but the novels and audiobooks are very much us!)

And my face is on video (an impromptu interview, no pressure there) on the main page! On purpose!

I strongly encourage you to read the updates:

  • In Update #2, Gregory A. Wilson pours his heart onto the page in a way I know was not easy for him to do.
  • Update #3 features a moving piece by Trini poet Brandon O'Brien, about why he loves this campaign and what writing such as what we are publishing here, at Atthis Arts, touches him and so many. It's really special.
  • Update #4 features a new short story by me, in which I have channeled all my 90s goth for your entertainment.
  • And because we've reached 100 backers, there will be a new short story from Gregory A. Wilson, very soon!

Here's the campaign link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alligatoralleyent/grayshade - please give it a look and if you can, share it out!

Thanks so much; I see you!

- Emily. ♥

Emily is excited!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 02:53:33 AM

Ha, ok, it's me. And this seemed like an appropriate update headline for this campaign.

First, an update on Night Ivy: The e-book is out now (let me know if you don't have it) and the hardcovers will be available in the year 3000. Ok, not quite. Definitely in September, hopefully by Gen Con in August. The printing world is a mess, but I refused to sacrifice the quality, as I think you'll see! Very excited to finally get these into your hands.

And, I've -super honestly- had the best time writing the second book. Plots are usually harder for me to chip through, but in this case, inspired by the success of this campaign and how much story I still have to tell, I just plotted the whole thing out and started writing. Certainly not effortless, but very, very natural. I had so much fun, I love it, and it's working through my editorial process now. (I really love the second book!)

Now, what is this Kickstarter? Well. We are releasing today, our assassin tale exploring faith and loyalty, Grayshade, but no, that's not all. We are also announcing a new Kickstarter campaign. It is a collaborative project, with a TTRPG by the lovely and ardent Floridians at Alligator Alley Entertainment and also working to fund several Atthis Arts items, including Books Two and Three of the trilogy, the audiobooks, and a super cool, individually numbered Founder's Coin made by Norse Foundry.

For more on this project, check out our Grayshade page: https://atthisarts.com/product/grayshade

- or if you'd rather go right to the Kickstarter signup, it's here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alligatoralleyent/grayshade (Clicking follow on the preview page helps us out!)

Cheers, and thank you again for hardcovering my precious little story. I am toooo excited for you to read it.

♥ - Emily.
